The New Kayak King!

The JACKSON DAYTRIPPER!
Introducing the Jackson Daytripper

The Jackson Daytripper has reinvented the sport of recreational kayaking. The Jackson Daytripper is a hybrid kayak, it is 1/2 canoe and 1/2 kayak. It combines all the great features of a canoe and kayak and rolls them into one awesome boat! It has all the maneuverability of a kayak plus all the space of a canoe. The kayak one weighs a light 42 pounds. A wide open cockpit allows easy entry and exit from the boat.

Clear Creek Paddle with Jackson Daytripper

I tried this kayak for the first time on Clear Creek. Clear Creek flows into the Hocking River next to our Trip III drop off point. (Also next to the Sunoco Gas Station on Highway 33). We started at a covered bridge and finished as Clear Creek connected into the Hocking, all together the trip was about 11 miles. This trip would be one of the most popular canoe livery trips if the water was not so shallow. The scenery is spectacular; amazing rock formations, cliffs and lots of wildlife. I counted 8 geese, 3 Great Blue Herons, 2 beavers some Kingfishers. The problem is the water is shallow. There is only about 1-2 month window when the water is deep enough for paddling. April is usually when water levels are at their highest but we still struck bottom with the Jackson several times. I had to have Kyra jump out of our boat so I could get by.
Review
TOTATALLY AWESOME!
This boat will be a huge hit this year. It has all the key features our customers want: comfortability, and the kayak looks awesome. With a doubt it is our new favorite recreational kayak. Come visit and by one of the first to try it out! My inclination is that after one ride using the Jackson Daytripper you will never use another kayak on the Hocking!
Happy Paddling
